Reprodcible Research

Recent studies demonstrating lack of reproducibility in psychological and medical research has led to a so-called “replication crisis” where scientists and the public doubt the results of peer-reviewed research.

With the ever increasing complexity of genomics data and the computational and statistical methods needed to analyze them, reproducibility is also issue in genomics and bioinformatics. On October 17th at 4pm at the CCBR, GBB member Benjamin Haibe-Kains and Zhaleh Safikhani (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre) gave a short seminar and lead us in a practical discussion about how to make our research stand the ultimate test: replication.
