GBB coffee Dec 2016

From

Tuesday Dec. 13th from 4pm-5pm at Sonic Café (60 Cecil St)

GBB Director and fellow Genome Biologists and Bioinformaticians drink coffee and have a friendly contest.

Chat about bioinformatics in Toronto and write our favourite algoirthms on napkins. Here's an exmaple: http://www.moseslab.csb.utoronto.ca/blog/?p=320

Thanks to all who attended. Several beautiful algorithm napkins were submitted, but alas only one person could win the Canada Computers gift card. And that person was Mickaël Mendez from Michael Hoffman's lab who wrote hamming distance for jupyter:

Honourable mentions were to Da from Michael Brudno's lab who submitted a beautiful double-sided napkin with fasta parsers in C++ and python, and Coby Viner who submitted the only bash napkin.
